Park got a rare double home victory as the Wolfpack hosted six teams in a boys and girls track and field meet Friday.

Park edged Concordia Academy for the boys team title, 330 points to 312.5.

On the girls side, Park and Concordia Academy tied for first, each with 318.5 points.

Park boys score big points in both track and field Park runners went 1-2-3 in the boys 3,200-meter race, led by Parker Hahn who finished first in a time of 10:47.45. Teammate Gavin Stauffer was second in 10:55.71 and Brandon Carver third in a non-scoring 11:49.61.

Treyton Bammert-Mueller won the discus competition with a best throw of 124-10. Teammate Jacob Karp was second at 118-01. Park’s boys won the 4×800 in 9:16.43.

Finishing second for the Wolfpack boys were: Derrick Onsarigo in the 110-meter hurdles (18.94), the 4×200 relay team in 1:41.42 and the 4×100 relay team in 46.49, Conner Fish in the 400 (57.21), OT Omot in the long jump (18-03.75) and Brady Perryman in the triple jump (39-09).

Boys team scores were: 1, Park 330. 2, Concordia Academy 312.5. 3, Woodbury, 284. 4, Cretin-Derham Hall, 209. 5, St. Paul Johnson, 138. 6, St. Paul Humboldt, 130.5. 7, New Life Academy, 109.

Park girls tie for first

Park’s Kylie Dahm and Susan Mbu tied for first in the pole vault, both clearing 8-feet.

Lydia Best won the 1,600-meter run in 6:19.35 then came back eight events later with a fourth-place finish in the 800 (2:52.63).

Zoey Bammert-Mueller won the shot put with a personal best throw of 31-04. Rainna Jameson won the girls high jump, clearing 4-10.

Scoring seconds for Park were Elizabeth Ayala in the 100-meter hurdles (19.77), the 4×200 team (1:54.59), Ellen Jensen in the 400 (1:08.28) and Anna-Marie Larsen in the discus (81-03.00).

“Very happy with the effort put forth by the 4×800 relay (Tori Stepka, Kate Townsend, Gabby Kaiser, Ellen Jensen),” said Park head coach Brad Narveson. “Not one of those girls had ever run an 800 before and they did it because they wanted to help the team. Those are the type of kids we need to have on this team in order to be successful.”

Without those 15 points scored in the 4×8, Park wouldn’t have tied for first in the meet.

Girls team scores were: 1, (tied) Park, 318.5 and Concordia Academy, 318.5. 3, Woodbury, 264.5. 4, Cretin- Derham Hall, 201. 5, St. Paul Johnson, 116.5. 6, St. Paul Humboldt, 112.5. 7, New Life Academy, 91.5.

The Park girls compete at Tartan Friday afternoon. The Park boys are idle until a meet at Eagan on Tuesday, May 10.
