Host Park swept the triple jump on its way to a team championship Thursday in the Matt Maher Invitational.
Eyuel Miftah won the triple jump (40-0.25), Skyler Morgan was second (39-10), Bryan Wright third (39-8) and Danny Bosch fifth (37-0).
Park’s boys edged Concordia Academy for the team title, 182 to 163.66. East Ridge was third with 62.33 and New Life Academy fourth with 55.
White Bear Lake won the girls team race with 299 points. Concordia Academy was second with 152, Park third with 86, East Ridge fourth with 25 and New Life Academy fifth with 14.
Park’s Skyler Morgan had an overall big meet, winning the 100 in 12.16 with teammate Fiyinfoluwa Taiwo finishing fourth in 12.25. Morgan was second in the 200 (23.76) and also finished second in the long jump (19-3). Jayveon Wade was third in the long jump (16-9) and Bryan Wright fifth (16-7).
Kroix Pearson finished first in the 400 (54.53). Jack Weir won the 800 (2:12.35), Benjamin Paulsen (2:24.43) was fourth and Jayden Rentz (2:24.72) fifth. Alexander Djadoo was fourth in the 110-meter-high hurdles (20.96). Miftah was second (45.29) in the 300-meter hurdles, Cooper Williams third (45.98) and Djadoo (52.02) fifth.
Park’s Eli Firchau (4:42.68) and Gavin Stauffer (4:42.69) finished 1-2 in a photo finish 1,600 meters. Joe Henry was fourth (4:52.57) and Samuel Craig fifth (5:2185).
Park won the 4x400 in 3:42.53 and was third in the 4x800 (10:03.39).
Kaeden Callais finished second in the high jump, clearing 5-8. Hazim King and Kaleb Miftah tied for third at 5-4. Hazim King finished fourth in the pole vault (7-6).
Hailey Kieffer finished fourth (1:07.58) and Caroline Faust was fifth (1:08.94) in the 400-meters. Vanessa Suh was sixth in the 100 (13.92). Kalin Randrup took fifth in the 800 (2:56.02). Elizabeth Ayala was third in the 300-meter hurdles (58.52) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.83). Sharon Oni was fifth (20.87) in the 100 hurdles and Marin Kirsch sixth (20.89).
Park was third in the 4x100 relay (53.96), second in the 4x200 (1:53.85) and second in the 4x400 (4:29.38).
McKayla Annan finished tied for third in the high jump at 4-4. Afton Hardy tied for fifth (4-2). Annelise Faletti was third in the triple jump (32-2), Suh finished fifth (29-0.5) and Kylee Nickle sixth (28-1).
Shot put and discus results were not available.
Park hosts the Last Chance Meet Thursday, May 16, starting at 3:45 p.m.
Triple jumpers also lead at Blaine Invitational
Park’s triple jumpers led the way for the Wolfpack competing in the Blaine Invitational track and field meet on April 30.
Eyuel Miftah was fifth (40-07), Skyler Morgan sixth (40-06) and Bryan Wright seventh (40-02) in the triple jump.
Host Blaine won both the girls and boys team titles. In the girls' events it was 1, Blaine, 139.8. 2, Andover, 92. 3, Champlin Park, 78.8. 4, Coon Rapids, 28.4. 5. Park, 19. 6, Totino-Grace, 16. In the boys' events it was 1, Blaine, 134. 2, Champlin Park, 78. 3, Andover, 72. 4, Coon Rapids, 59. 5, Totino-Grace, 19. 6, Park, 12.
Dominic Jenkins was fifth in the 400 (52.53) in a PR, Eli Firchau finished 10th in the 800 2:10.71 in a PR.
Park’s Jenkins, Kaeden Callais, Fiyinfoluwa Taiwo and Skyler Morgan placed third in the 4x200 in 1:33.46. Park was fourth in the 4x400 relay with the team of Kroix Pearson, Cooper Williams, Naod Tewelde and Miskir Esayas finishing in 3:42.86. In the 4x800, Park was third with the quartet of Firchau, Henry Joa, Samuel Craig and Gavin Stauffer running an 8:51.09 race.
Taran Blasy was 10th in the shot put (41-00.5). Aidan Boche was 10th in the discus at 115-07. Hazim King was seventh in the high jump at 5-8.
Susan Mbu finished sixth in the 400 in a PR of 1:04.38. Annelise Faletti was ninth in the 400 in 1:06.26, Hailey Kieffer was 10th in the 300-meter hurdles (54.87). Mbu was also 10th in the pole vault at 6-0. Annelise Faletti was seventh (32-01) and Vanessa Suh ninth (31-08) in the triple jump.
Park’s team of Madeline Finstad, Kylee Nickle, Vanessa Suh and Ameenah Alowonle finished third in the 4x100 relay in 51.91. Nickle, Alowonle, Faletti and Rainna Jameson were third in the 4x200 in 1:50.74. The Wolfpack foursome of Gabriella Faletti, Nickle, Annelise Faletti and Kalin Randrup was fourth in the 4x400 in 4:34.40.
Pajyeeb Kong was fourth (31-07.5) and Zoey Bammert-Mueller fifth (31-02.75) in the shot put. Karis Waindim finished third in the discus (95-06) and Bannert-Mueller was fourth (95-03). McKayla Annan tied for seventh in the high jump (4-6).
