The City of Cottage Grove will hold a public hearing to set the 2026 property tax levy on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:00 p.m. in city hall. The hearing Dec. 3 follows the setting of a preliminary tax levy by the city earlier this fall.
The 2026 preliminary tax levy as set can be lowered but not raised at the Dec. 3 meeting. Residents wishing to be heard on the 2026 tax levy may speak at the Dec. 3 public hearing in the St. Croix Room. Those unable to attend the hearing but wishing to submit comment may contact City Clerk Tammy Anderson by email at tanderson@cottagegrovemn.gov. All reasonable accommodations will be made for those with disabilities. Please notify the city clerk in advance so arrangements can be made.
Also Dec. 3, meanwhile, the city will hold a public hearing on proposed improvements to 80th Street and East Point Douglas Road. The proposed improvements on 80th Street extend from Highway 61 to Ideal Avenue, while those on East Point Douglas Road extend from 80th Street South to the intersection. The estimated total cost of improvements to 80th Street South and East Point Douglas Road is $17,290,170.

As for Newport, a truth in taxation hearing for the 2026 property tax levy is set for Dec. 4 at 6:00 p.m. in Newport City Hall. As for the city of St. Paul Park, meanwhile, final 2026 property tax levy review and adoption will take place Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m., in the St. Paul Park City Hall.
