31st Annual St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour 2023

Join eight pottery studios, 73 potters from 19 states and three from England for this national invitational gathering and self-guided tour of potters and sale of ceramics on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13 from 10–6 p.m., and Sunday, May 14 from 10–5 p.m.

According to Will Swanson, media contact for the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour, this event is a series of pottery sales at eight different studios near the upper St. Croix River about an hour drive from the Twin Cities. Each pottery studio is within a short drive of the others.

“Host potters invite guest artists to participate as well, offering visitors a wide range of distinctive ceramics for sale and a chance to meet artists face to face,” Swanson said. “Two new host potters will be joining the group in 2023. After many years as a guest artist on the tour, Peter Jadoonath will be opening his Shafer, Minn. studio as a host this spring.”
Jadoonath explained, “I spent my formative pottery years attending the tour, picking up pots, turning them upside down, considering their weight. To be entrusted to carry on the tradition now is surreal.”
Alana Cuellar will also be joining the group as a co-host at her dad Guillermo’s studio.

Cuellar said, “It’s a special weekend, seeing so many beautiful pots on display and feeling the energy of the visitors is inspiring. I feel lucky to be part of it.”

Admission is free and open to everyone.
