The following complaints were filed in Dakota County Circuit Court:
Trevor J. Herron, 24, Saint Paul, was charged February 16 with two counts of felony attempted violation of domestic abuse no contact order with two prior convictions. On April 7, 2022, a domestic abuse no contact order was served to Herron, prohibiting him from having any contact with a N.S. On October 29, 2022, N.S. contacted Hastings Police because she had received multiple collect calls from an inmate at the Ramsey County Jail. An officer accessed the jail call system from Ramsey County Jail, which showed that Herron’s inmate pin number had been used to place three calls to N.S.’s phone number. Herron has had at least two prior domestic-violence related convictions in the past ten years. A court summons was issued.
Lamont A. Mack, 35, Dakota County Jail, Hastings, was charged February 14 with felony assault in the fourth degree correctional facility employee throws or transfers bodily fluids. A report of an assault at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings was received on February 12. Mack, an inmate, was in his cell when a correctional sergeant and correctional deputy went to retrieve his food tray. According to the complaint, “as the correctional deputy turned his back to pick up the tray, he felt spit hit the back of his left arm and the back of his neck.” Camera footage reviewed showed Mack making a spitting motion towards the backside of the deputy. Mack was booked in Dakota County Jail.
Alexander D. Petersen, 22, Roberts, was charged February 13 with felony threats of violence with intent to terrorize. On February 9, officers responded to a report of a domestic at a residence in Hastings. The call noted that the male suspect, Peterson, had pulled a knife on his mother’s boyfriend and then fled the scene. According to the complaint, both the victim and Peterson’s Mother stated that victim neither approached nor threatened Peterson before he brandished the knife. Peterson was booked in the Dakota County Jail.
Emily C. Weldon, 22, Newport, was charged on February 14 with felony theft over $1000 up to $5000. On August 28, 2022, a report of a cell phone stolen from a restaurant was received by the Hastings Police Department. The cell phone had been set in the breakroom before the victim's shift but when she returned to the breakroom shortly after, the cell phone was missing. A coworker, Weldon, was suspected of taking the cell phone because her shift ended as the victims shift began. Officers were able to track the phone to a gas station where Weldon was caught on video tossing the phone in the trash. According to the complaint, “Weldon admitted she threw the phone in the trash because she panicked and did not know what to do with it.” A court summons was issued.
