PRESCOTT – At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, the Prescott Area Historical Society presents Chris Falteisek’s “Celebrate Prescott” Concert at Joy Lutheran Church, 1435 St. Croix St., Prescott, Wis. All are welcome and invited to attend this multimedia concert. Refreshments will follow.
Music, stories, insights and a celebration of Prescott’s rich history will be a part of this multimedia concert. Several people who have been influential to Hastings resident Falteisek, as well as Prescott, will be honored during this celebration. Those being recognized are Mary Beeler, Lillian Cotter, Dorothy Ahlgren, Dave Zerahn, Dorothy Most, Ken and Deanna Roen, Monsignor Edwin Knauf and Lorraine Eichman. Music in the “Celebrate Prescott” Concert will include Falteisek’s personal compositions and variations, as well as recorded music from Prescott’s past. The celebration will also include photographs from over 150 years of Prescott's history.
Copies of Dorothy Eaton and Mary Beeler’s book, “Log Buildings and Logging in Early Pierce County, Wisconsin” will be available for sale following the concert, as well as Mary Beeler, who will be present to sign her latest book.
A free-will donation will be taken at the concert. All proceeds will go to support the Prescott Area Historical Society.
Falteisek is a native and 1982 graduate of Prescott High School. Through the mentorship of Mary Beeler while in sixth grade, Falteisek became involved in both the Prescott Area Historical Society and the Pierce County Historical Association. He has assisted and published over 12 books on local and family history.
After two years of piano lessons with Deanna Roen, Falteisek started playing organ and piano at St. Joseph’s Church as a sixth grader. Falteisek currently works as Minister of Music at Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury and is a regular freelance musician at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings and St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Paul Park, as well as a substitute accompanist at several other local churches. He has composed and recorded 17 albums. His musical performances have taken him to Sweden, Norway and around the United States. Falteisek’s musical style is eclectic and mirrors his love of various historical periods and places.
