Park Grove Library featured events for September

All Washington County Library branches will be closed on Monday, September 6 for the Labor Day holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 7.

Featured Events

Take and Make with KidCreate Studio: Clay Trinket Box Wednesday, September 8 Design your very own trinket box out of air-dry clay! Pick up supplies at Park Grove Library and complete your creation at home. Artists will sculpt, paint, and more as they create a special place to store their tiniest treasures. For ages 5-12. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is provided in partnership with Kid Create Studio with funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Musical Preschool Storytime Thursday, September 9 from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

Join us weekly on Thursdays to sing, talk, read, write, and play at this inclusive storytime for families with preschoolers. We’ll learn new songs, play musical instruments, and focus on concepts such as counting, colors, emotions, patterns, and kindness. Recommended for developmental ages 4-6 and their grown-ups. Registration is not required. We will meet outside on the patio, weather permitting.

Virtual: What’s in Your Storage Places to Help with Genealogical Searches?

Thursday, September 9 from 6 to 7 p.m.

There are many great digital resources available for genealogy research, but they can only get us so far. The best resources are hiding in basements and attics in our houses and relatives’ houses. Eleanor Brinsko of Carlon Genealogical Services will help you organize storage materials, understand what to look for, and determine the fate of the information. This online program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Registration is required. Register online at WashCoLib.org or call 651-275-7300.

Virtual: Health Care Directives Tuesday, September 14 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Join us for a free online workshop on Health Care Directives presented by Trellis. Leaving instructions about your health care choices helps ensure decisions are made that are based on your values and preferences, even if you are unable to make your wishes known. This program will equip you with the knowledge and resources you need to create your directive. Registration is required. Register online at WashCoLib.org or call 651275-7300.
