LeMay leads Park in girls’ swimming

Park junior swimmer Afton LeMay won both the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.79 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.81 to highlight a dual meet against visiting Stillwater Thursday at Cottage Grove Middle School.

Park also won the 200-yard freestyle relay with the foursome of LeMay, Alayna Faletti, Arachi O’Brien and Amber Norgaard in a time of 1:50.27.

Stillwater won the dual meet, 93-85. Norgaard won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.96 and placed second in the 200yard freestyle in 2:06.87.

Sophomore Sarah Weston scored 176.90 points to finish second in 1-meter diving.

Park’s Faletti was second in the 100yard freestyle in 1:01.44 and fourth in the 200-yard IM in 2:35.60.

Park’s foursome of Faletti, O’Brien, Lemay and Norgaard clocked a time of 4:08.53 to score a win in the final event, the 400-yard relay.

Danika Rowan finished first in the 100yard breaststroke in 1:29.56.

O’Brien finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:25.91.

Netters go 2-2 in Apple Valley tournament After opening the season with three straight wins, the Park girls’ volleyball team went 2-2 in the Apple Valley High School tournament Friday and Saturday.

Park defeated Faribault 2-0, then lost 0-2 to Concordia Academy in Friday’s games. On Saturday, Park fell 0-2 to Caledonia, then ended the tournament with a 2-0 win over host Apple Valley.

Kendall Lewis had nine kills and Carly Slusser five to lead the offense against Apple Valley. Addy Glide had 21 sets om the win. Megan Husaby led the defense with eight.

Park, now 5-2 on the season, hosts White Near Lake to begin Suburban East Conference play Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Park boys’ soccer gets first win

Park won its first game of the season Tuesday Sept 6, with a 4-1 win over visiting Apple Valley. Tristan Lee had two goals for the Wolfpack. Ayub Mohamed had a goal and an assist in the game. Adding assists were Tanner Courteau and Terry Espinosa-Gariby.

Park dropped a 9-0 decision to Stillwater at home Wednesday.

Park lost 3-2 at North St. Paul Saturday. Tristan Lee and Cam Forys scored goals for the Wolfpack, while Mohamed had both assists.

Visiting Cretin-Derham Hall took a 7-1 decision from Park Monday. Noah Haupt had Park’s only goal in the game.

Park, now 1-1-4, plays at Roseville Wednesday afternoon.

Park girls’ soccer wins, ties

Park won 2-1 at Tartan Saturday, then played visiting Cretin-Derham Hall to a 1-1 tie at home on Monday in girls’ soccer.

Kenzie Treber and Tori Stepka scored goals for the Wolfpack who rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat Tartan in Oakdale on Saturday. Emma Taschner had an assist.

On Monday, Park rallied again in the second half, after trailing 1-0 at the break. Taylar Nadler scored to tie the game at 1-all in the second half. Neither team could put the ball in the back of the net the rest of the second half or in the overtime period. Olivia Opichka tallied the lone assist in the game for Park.

Park dropped a 2-0 decision to Apple Valley Tuesday. Sept. 6 and fell 5-0 to Stillwater Wednesday, Sept. 7.

The Wolfpack, now 2-2-3, plays at Roseville Wednesday, then at Eastview on Saturday.
