Parks Commission to meet November 8 at City Hall

NATURAL RESOURCES ALSO IMPORTANT TO RESIDENT WELL-BEING

The Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Commission will meet November 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., in City Hall. Listed on the meeting agenda are several items, including two park naming applications, and three playground proposals, for playgrounds to be called Meadowgrass, Hidden Valley, and Highlands. Also among the action items for November 8 will be the Community Center and Park Improvement plans, along with the Mississippi Dunes Master Plan, with a public referendum vote for the Community Center having taking place on Tuesday, November 2.

Each playground to be considered, meanwhile, has several designs to choose from.

Among the playground proposals under consideration is Meadowgrass, with three different artificial park options to be considered.

The first option, with a total square footage of 2,438 along an “existing asphalt pathway,” would have wood fiber resilient surfacing along with eight-foot high swings, two with belt seats and one New Generation two-person swing.
