The long-awaited facility, Ravine Landing, has opened at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park. Washington County commissioners celebrated the completion of the Ravine Landing in the Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park with county partners and building contractors June 8.

Those taking part in the ribbon-cutting event at the landing are Washington County commissioners Fran Miron, Gary Kriesel and Lisa Weik, Metropolitan Councilmember Susan Vento, state Rep. Keith Franke, state Rep. Tony Jurgens, Commissioner Wayne Johnson, state Sen. Karla Bigham, Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey, and Commissioner Wayne Johnson.

Ravine Landing is a new building to house restrooms, storage, and an event gathering space that the replaced the shelter that was previously on the site. It is next to the play area and lake in the park, and at the convergence of park trails. Ravine Landing is now open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The new facility, positioned at the end of the last parking lot near the lake fit beautifully into the surrounding landscape and is the perfect addition to the park. The addition of the facility will give the park the opportunity to host Cross Country running and Nordic Ski meets for area high schools, weddings, meetings and a variety of other programs.
