Rec Works volunteer program training is a requirement for anyone interested in volunteering during summer playground programs in Cottage Grove. It is open to ages 12-15, and the training takes place on June 7, from 9–11 a.m., at Glacial Valley Park. Registration for the training program opens on March 1 and is $30 per participant. There is a maximum of 25 participants for this training program. A material packet and a 2024 recreation shirt are included in the cost.
Participants should bring their park location of choice: Hamlet, Hearthside, Glacial Valley, Peter Thompson, or Pine Tree Valley, and shifts they would like to volunteer this summer to the training program. Shifts are from 8:30 to noon or 12:30–4 p.m. Volunteers may schedule up to four shifts per week or combine and do two full days.
