Taking place Monday, Feb. 27, the Rose of Sharon Outreach Committee treated over 50 police, fire, and other city workers to a chicken dinner, with the meal running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at Rose of Sharon, located at the northeast corner of 70th Street and Jamaica Avenue in Cottage Grove.
An annual event for the church, it’s a way to show appreciation. “We are thankful we have such a dedicated police, fire and city staff and felt we like to let them know we appreciate them,” said Lois from the Outreach Committee at Rose of Sharon Lutheran. During the pandemic box lunches were delivered to the different city departments. Now gathered around the table once more to fellowship in person, a good time was had by all.
