Our third time rescheduled cruise was supposed to be happening as you read this. We would be almost setting foot on Russian soil and going to see a lot of old things. We have been rescheduled for this trip next year so I hope the travel gods have everything in place by that time. The third time was not the lucky charm so hopefully it is the Number Four. At least we were here to enjoy a few of those great cooler days of July and see the grass turn somewhat green again.

They say we should keep learning things to continue leading a meaningful life. The things learned in the past few weeks have been both positive and negative. The negative part has the mess that someone can create when they get into your computer and think PayPal is their piggy bank. Working on seeing the end of that tunnel in the near future is a strong wish.

My friend Margaret and I both learned that high top table chairs are not our friends. We went for Thursday night half price burgers and the only available setting was the high tops. Between being hungry and not wanting to go someplace else we said “okay”. Our legs more or less said “No” to that decision and let the protest be known in painful ways. Maybe if the chairs we sat on would have have had foot rests, we could rest our feet on them and it would have been better. Message to the younger group or those who love the high top chairs; enjoy them while you can.

I also can add some Trivia information that may be of use for one or two people out there. Do you know the reason they have a hole in soda tabs beyond saving material? It is said they were originally made for your soda straw to fit in and stay in the can. I do hear that some people totally will not drink from the can unless they have a straw or another container to pour it in.

Why do Ritz cracker have groves along the edge of the cracker? Apparently this is big news of the past week and the answer is that it was designed to cut cheese. Now I have not taken the time to see if that really works as they did not say just what kind of cheese it will cut. I think they could have come up with a little more dashing reason.

Another burning question is why do pots and pans have holes in the end of their handles. A lot of you might say to hang them up but it also is used to put the end of your mixing spoon in to drip back into the pot. I don’t think it would work for every spoon and pot because size can vary but maybe good enough for a Trivia answer.

I have not tired this one, but “they” say that a raw potato cut into a shape to fit in a light bulb base will get out a broken light bulb base. I had Neighbor Tony get that broken piece out for me so I did not go through a lot of creative ways to think of how to fix that problem.

Awhile back Daughter Nissa asked me why I had not told her that the Instant Pot cover can be easily inserted in the slots in the top of the base. I thought everyone just knew that so maybe passing on these Trivia things might be of interest.

That hot weather will come back! I have really started thinking about frozen, easy to make treats. So it’s time to hit the Internet and look up recipes and/or ideas and do the same with the summer magazines. I can still recall the 3 cent Fudgesicle or the 5 cent Dreamsicle that I could get if I correctly spent the 1 dollar that my grandmother gave me to get a loaf of bread and enough lunch meat to make sandwiches with it. I will admit I had to fight the dinos on the way back to grandma’s place because that was a VERY long time ago. Or maybe it was the mosquitoes? Anyway, they always wanted a part of the treat!
