LETTER to the Editor
One of the things that I appreciate most about Governor Tim Walz’ first term in office is the work he has done to support and champion infrastructure investments for Minnesota’s communities. He has supported and fought for investments in better roads and bridges and renovating and repairing important water systems throughout the state. He signed into law the largest local jobs and projects plan in state history, which created thousands of good, high-quality jobs throughout Minnesota.
Governor Walz has also championed investments in local law enforcement and public safety. He reached across the political aisle to work with Republican legislators to invest $300 million into local law enforcement agencies. His support for the HERO Police Training Center in Cottage Grove is just one of many examples of Governor Walz’ support for the needs and interests of local communities.
It seems like almost every day there is a story from a state like Michigan or Mississippi or somewhere else where water systems are collapsing, roads are impassable and schools are uninhabitable. Tim Walz recognizes that Minnesota’s long-term strength not only lies in our people but also our infrastructure. Because of that I am proud to go on record as a mayor who is publicly endorsing his reelection.
