Justin Olsen will be temporary mayor in Cottage Grove as Mayor Myron Bailey recovers from surgery related to a car accident last year. Bailey suffered pain and numbness in his right leg after a car accident last year in which he suffered damage to his lower back.
Bailey shared more in a post to social media.
“Ok! So today I am going to ask for a little prayer of healing from all of you out there!” he said. “For those who didn’t know, I was in a car accident last November and injured my lower back. (I hit a large deer and totaled my car). After medication, therapy, and shots, nothing worked. So this morning I am going in for surgery to hopefully fix the issue and take the pain and numbness away in my right leg. Recovery is 2-6 weeks. So responses on social media or email will/may be delayed. Justin Olsen will be temporary Mayor until I have healed enough to come back to regular work and being the Mayor.
