Working River Tour: District Energy

Join the Mississippi Park Connection for a behind the scenes tour of St. Paul’s largest source of energy, the Hans O. Nyman Energy Center located in Saint Paul, on Thursday, March 14 from 8–9:30 a.m. Attendees will get the chance to see the inside workings of biomass utilization, solar power, and more.
This opportunity is open to all Mississippi Park Connection members or $35 to become a member, which provides access to all future member events. Space is limited and registration is required.
Plant tours require access through stairways. Guests must wear flat, closed-toe shoes. Shoes with tread are preferred. Due to safety restrictions, guests will not be allowed in the plant with sandals, heels, or open-toed shoes. Hard hats, safety glasses and ear plugs are required and will be provided.
Street parking is available, but most nearby meters are limited to one hour (the tour will run approximately 75 minutes). Ramp parking is available at the Science Museum of Minnesota or the Saint Paul RiverCentre. Hans O. Nyman Energy Center, located at 76 West Kellogg Boulevard, is a biomass power plant operated by District Energy St. Paul, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. District Energy St. Paul is currently the largest hot water district heating system in North America.
