Norgaard paces Park swimmers in section meet

Park High junior Amber Norgaard set two personal bests to lead the Wolfpack in the Section 3AA girls swimming and diving meet Friday at Blue Water Aquatic Center in Apple Valley.

Park’s swimmers recorded 16 personal bests in the meet.

Norgaard’s best finish was in the 100-yard freestyle where she placed sixth in a personal record of 56.34. She earlier set a personal best time of 56.21 in the prelims of the event. Norgaard also finished tied for 11th in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.35. She swam to a personal best time of 26.03 in the prelims of the race.

Afton LeMay was 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:16.54. Her prelim time was faster, too, as she finished ninth and clocked a personal best of 1:15.46.

Sarah Weston finished ninth in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 294.65.

Park’s Alayna Faletti swam to times of 27.26 in the prelims and then 27.14 in the 50-yard freestyle to finish 16th. She had a top time of 1:00.19 in the 100-yard freestyle prelims. Faletti had a PR of 1:08.04 in the 100-yard backstroke.

Ellie Imdieke finished 20th in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:46.85. She had a personal best of 2:11.87 in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing 20th.

Zoe Speikers had a time of 1:17.18 and finished 29th in the 100-yard freestyle. Danika Rowan clocked a 2:39.51 in the 200-yard IM and finished 32nd. Lilianna Morris had a personal best of 1:15.12 in the 100-yard backstroke and another best of 6:21.06 in the 500-yard freestyle, placing 23rd.

Zoe Pfeiffer had a PR of 1:12.57 in the 100-yard backstroke and a PR pf 34.17 in the 50-yard backstroke. Arachi O’Brien finished 20th with a PR of 1:11.53 in the 100-yard butterfly. Eraya Nybakken PR’d in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:30.00.

Park was eighth in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:14.25 with the team of Morris, Pfeiffer, Nybakken and Kaylynn Sowada. Park’s foursome of LeMay, Amber Norgaard, O’Brien and Katelyn Norgaard was seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Wolfpack finished seventh in final event of the meet with the team of LeMay, Morris, O’Brien and Amber Norgaard (in a 55.57 leg), in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:04.62.

Park was eighth in the team race with 103 points. Rosemount finished first with 428 points, East Ridge was second with 391 and Hastings third with 348.
