Michael Dennis Jerry, 55, St. Paul Park, was charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a felony carrying a maximum sentence of three years in cancelation and a fine of up to $5,000.
A black Chevy Impala passed by an officer at about 3 a.m. on Dec. 12. A license search showed that Jerry’s license had been cancelled inimical to public safety, according to the criminal complaint filed in Dakota County Court Dec. 13.
The vehicle reportedly parked at a gas station, and Jerry went inside. The officer went inside and confirmed his identity and relayed to another officer that Jerry had left the store and returned to his vehicle. The car then drove southbound on Vermillion Street.
The second officer pulled up behind the Impala and activated its emergency lights and siren. Jerry’s vehicle allegedly signaled it was pulled over but continued accelerated southbound before turning westbound on Hwy. 50 toward Farmington and then onto Hwy. 3 into Rosemount and Eagan.
“Law enforcement performed a successful precision immobilization technique on the suspect vehicle,” the complaint states.
Jerry was arrested and booked into the Dakota County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000 without conditions or $50,000 with conditions. His next court appearance is Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m.
