Contest shaping up for Minnesota House seat 41A

With party caucuses arriving Feb. 27, two candidates are seeking the support in their respective parties for House seat 41A. Those two candidates are Lucia Wroblewski (DFL) and Grayson McNew (R).

Currently represented by first term office holder Mark Wiens (R) of Lake Elmo, the House 41A district encompasses northern Cottage Grove along with the western river area in south Washington County and will be up for grabs this fall, the incumbent not seeking reelection.

Wroblewski called on supporters to support her at caucus and beyond this election season.

“Friends I am overwhelmed with the support I have received from all of you,” she shared recently. “Thank you! To be elected I must first be endorsed. Attend your local DFL Precinct Caucus on February 27 and be selected to be a delegate for me. Attend our Local Senate District 41 DFL endorsing convention on March 16 and as a delegate your will be able to vote for me. None attendee forms are also available if you cannot make the caucus. For more information and to find your caucus location go to my website (luciaforhouse.com) Together we can do this! Thank you.”

Also looking to caucus but from the Republican side, McNew laid out his reasons for seeking his party’s nomination for Minnesota House seat 41A.

“Over the past few years our world has changed irrevocably,” he said. “Truth is subjective rather than fact. A scary reality.

Inflation has run rampant. Minnesotans can’t buy a week's worth of groceries for under $100. Everything is getting more expensive. The world has become unaffordable.

We need someone in St. Paul who understands these new realities.

I spend most of my time working on the St. Croix river. I can say this, we truly live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. From Lake Elmo, to the beach at St Mary’s point, or beautiful Afton state park. There is always someone to talk to with a smile, or something to see in our little stretch of the valley. It’s our oasis from the madness.

But I can’t sit idly by as our little stretch of heaven is threatened. It's not from a lack of care, effort, or trying we find ourselves where we do; it's a lack of hope. But hope is never lost as long as we stand and fight. I promise to fight for solutions that make sense.

I hope all of you will join me in this fight to rebuild Minnesota. Better schools, lower taxes, and less government in your life aren’t empty promises from me. They are a necessity if our republic wishes to survive.

My name is Grayson McNew and I am running to be your next State Representative for District 41A. I hope I can count on your support.”
