Samantha Ann Farah, 34, Cottage Grove, was charged in Dakota County Circuit Court Tuesday, Dec. 27 with felony offering a forged check over $250 up to $2,500.
An investigation was launched into a series of stolen checks out of Rosemount in October 2021. According to the victims, four checks were written but never received at their intended location.
The checks were cashed or attempted to be cashed at different locations including a bank in West Saint Paul on Oct. 5, 2021. An investigator was able to locate the cashed check and found it altered to be paid to Farah.
The bank surveillance footage showed Farah cashing the check at the drive-up lane. When the investigator called Farah about the transaction, she claimed, “she did not remember the transaction.” A court summons was issued.
