The Nov. 4 election has come and gone in South Washington County, with at the following results.
Starting with the St. Paul Park Council, Jeff Haggerty and Jeff Swenson each retained their seats, Haggerty polling 461 votes or 48.99 percent of the total while Swenson polled 460 votes or 48.88 percent of the total. The council race which saw two candidates for two seats and no official challengers also registered 20 write-in votes, or 2.13 percent of the vote total for St. Paul Park Council.
As for School District 833 in South Washington County, the winners are Elizabeth Bockman Eckberg, Katie Schwartz, Louise Hinz, and Sharon Van Leer.
Schwartz, Hinz, and Van Leer are incumbents, while Bockman Eckberg takes the place of school board member Eric Tessmer, who didn’t seek reelection.
As for poll results in school board, Bockman Eckberg polled 11,843 or 15.37 percent of the total, while Schwartz polled with 11,729 votes or 15.22 percent of the total. Hinz polled 11,147 votes or 14.46 percent of the total, and Van Leer poled 11,189 votes or 14.52 percent of the total. Other results include Juan Huerta with 8,137 votes or 10.56 percent of the total, Lori Pecchia Michalski with 7,290 votes or 9.46 percent of the total, Chad Borseth with 5,262 votes or 6.83 percent of the total, Bryn Forstner with 6,896 votes or 8.95 percent of the total, and Travis Dahle with 3,265 votes or 4.24 percent of the total. There were 313 write-ins for the District 833 school board race, comprising 0.41 percent of the District 833 vote total.
As for that part of District 200 in South Washington County, Elaine K. Mikel-Mulder won with the race overall with 1,481 votes or 60.80 percent of total votes, followed by Simone Rendon with 780 votes or 32.02 percent. Marty Weber polled 169 votes or 6.94 percent of the total. School board returns for District 200 saw six write-ins across five precincts, for 0.25 percent of the total.
Last but not least for voting results is State Senate District 47 in Woodbury and Maplewood, with vote returns showing Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger (DFL) the winner. Hemmingsen-Jaeger polled 13,527 vote or 61.69 percent of the total, compared to Dwight Dorau (Republican) with 8,383 votes or 38.23 percent of the total. There were also 18 write-ins for State Senate District 47, comprising 0.08 percent (eight-hundredths of a percent) of the vote total for State Senate District 47
