Blake W. Ramaker Zeise, 29, Hastings, was charged in Dakota County District Court Friday, July 21 with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
On July 18, a traffic stop on a red Mitsubishi Eclipse with white hood graphics and no front bumper was attempted near the intersection of County Road 46 and Highway 52. The traffic stop was attempted because the suspect vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. Squad lights and sirens were activated near the intersection of County Road 46 and Highway 52, but the suspect vehicle did not stop. As the deputy got close to the suspect vehicle, the vehicle drove around the squad car, passing on the driver’s side and entering a construction zone. The suspect vehicle took off at a high rate of speed on a closed roadway. The deputy terminated his pursuit for public safety reasons.
The suspect vehicle was later located at a business in Farmington. The registered owner, Zeise, matched the description provided by the construction workers, identifying him as the driver. Zeise was placed under arrest. When asked if he had any warrants, Zeise responded that he did not but that he got scared. Zeise was booked into the Dakota County Jail.
