Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey has taken to social media for an update on city developments.  With many things happening in town the following is a summary of what he shared:

• News that Pizza Ranch expects to be open in June.

• A Little Village Indoor kids play space under construction at the former site of Las Margaritas.

• A facility for 02B Kid’s Day Care and School at the corner of Hardwood and East Point Douglas Road, with hopes to be open by fall.

• Two recent permits, one by Pacific Dental for the space next to Sports Clips, and another by Ulta Beauty for construction of a new space between Pet Smart and Planet Fitness.

• The purchase by Rocket Car Wash of the Big-O-Tire building to tear down and build a new facility

• Apartments along Hardwood and at The View.

• Interest by a developer in a site next to White Pines Senior Living and the Legends of Cottage Grove.

• Plans by High North to move their business to a space in the Target Shopping Center. The Mayor also clarifies that Cottage Grove did not outlaw THC/CBD, but instead put restrictions similar to tobacco and liquor stores on them. The city ordinance models Woodbury’s.

• The opening of two new tobacco stores in the city, one on 80th Street, and the other on County Road 19 and 70th Street.

• The ongoing construction of Hemingway Business Center in the business park, behind Caliber Collision.

• A pending land sale to two businesses planning to build in and around 95th and Jamaica. One site is being proposed for a convenience store/gas station, with a new business going in near North Star Sheets as well.

• Continued work on the city’s part with Van Meter on their expansion plans.

• Two apartment developers interested in the area of Hadley and 100th Street.

• A final plat for Ravine Crossings with regard to a housing development off of 90th and Keats.

• A new financial institution that has purchased the land between US Bank and Culvers, but also

• No word yet on the construction of the new Thai Restaurant on East Point Douglas Road or on Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins off 80th and Hemingway.

With plenty going on in the city development wise, the Mayor closed out wishing everyone a good week.
