COTTAGE GROVE – Local business owner and long-time Cottage Grove resident Wayne Johnson has thrown his hat into the ring for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 41A. Known in the community for running two successful HVAC businesses, Furnace Doctors and Dust Doctors, Johnson is not a newcomer to public service. His journey of service has taken him from the Cottage Grove City Council to the Washington County Board, where he's been focused on fiscal responsibility, transparency, and community-first policies.
Johnson is all about making a difference right where it matters – at home, in District 41A.
"It's about giving back to the place that's given us so much," Johnson said. "I've lived here, built businesses here, and raised my family here. I know the challenges we face and the opportunities that lie ahead. Let's roll up our sleeves and make our community even stronger, together."
With a rich background in leadership roles and a deep commitment to the district that has been his home for over 26 years, Johnson is eager to champion the needs of local families, businesses, and neighborhoods in the state legislature. He's ready to take on the issues that affect every Minnesotan, like enhancing public safety, supporting small businesses, and ensuring the state budget works for the people, not against them.
Johnson, together with his wife MaryBeth and their two adult children, Nate and Lexi, are proud to call Washington County home. Holding a bachelor of science in accounting from Metro State University, Johnson not only talks the talk but walks the walk when it comes to understanding the needs of the business community.
As he seeks the Republican endorsement, Johnson is more than just a candidate; he's a neighbor, a business owner, and a long-time resident committed to building a better future for the people of District 41A.
