Recently, the Cottage Grove Lions visited the Cottage Grove Fire Station for a tour and training on CPR, AED (automated external defibrillator) and lifesaving use of a torniquet. The training was provided by firefighters/EMT’s of the Cottage Grove Fire Department. During the course of the evening, the club learned that the department’s well-used coffee maker that was constantly in use; has stopped doing its job, unlike the coffee drinking full time firefighters. The Lions quickly made the decision to donate a Bunn commercial grade coffee maker and 20 pounds of Tim Horton’s Coffee to the department. Shown here (from left) are Lions Club member Justin Olsen, Lion Club member and Director of Public Safety Pete Koerner, Firefighter/Paramedic Mike McCoy, Firefighter Lt. Brian Bingham, and (kneeling) Firefighter Nick Linder.
