Park scored a clutch 5-3 battle with South Washington County rival East Ridge in girls lacrosse Friday evening, keeping the Wolfpack atop the Suburban East Conference
The Wolfpack improved to a conference-leading 7-1 and stand 9-1 in the season. East Ridge slipped to 5-3 in the SEC and 6-4 overall. Eighth-ranked Stillwater and Park are tied atop the SEC standings with identical 7-1 records.
Park senior and leading scorer Shelby Hansen scored just 38 seconds into the game on a free play to get the Wolfpack off and running.
Draw controls were three each to Madi Brinkman and Josie Leonard
The win against East Ridge sets up another key game for the Wolfpack in the penultimate week of the season, Park plays at Cretin-Derham Hall (6-2, 8-2) Wednesday, May 17, then has a non-conference game at home against St. Paul Academy (2-6) on Thursday, May 18.
Park 16, Irondale 3
Shelby Hansen powered in seven goals as Park rolled over visiting Irondale 16-3 in Suburban East Conference girls lacrosse at Wolfpack Stadium Wednesday.
Park led 7-1 at the half, then outscored the visitors 9-2 after the break.
Madi Brinkman had four goals for Park, Josie Leonard three, Ava Reckinger one.
Aubree Laska and Lauryn Ehrenstrom combined in goal. They stopped four of seven shots.
