After scoring just 10 goals this season prior to Thursday’s regular-season finale, the Park Wolfpack finally got offensive and routed visiting Irondale 7-0.

“It was senior night…I guess they were inspired,” said Park co-head coach Stacy Paleen. “I am so proud of our seniors. They have worked so hard over the past four years to help make us a competitive team.

All of the things we have been asking the girls to do throughout the season showed up in the game last night. It was fun seeing the girls get creative on the field and celebrate one another.

“We are hoping this momentum will carry us further in the section tournament,” Paleen added.

Lilly Newhouse led the Wolfpack with a pair of scores, while Kate Pierre, Sam Miller, Kyra Stofer, Lila Krumrie and Gabby Garofano each put in one tally.

Aaliyah Hoffart got the goaltending shutout.

Park closes the regular season with a record of 3-6 in the Suburban East Conference and 4-8-4 on the season.

Cretin-Derham Hall (3-5-0, 6-8-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes and went on to shutout the visiting Park Wolfpack 3-0 in Suburban East Conference in St. Paul Tuesday.

It was the ninth time this season the Wolfpack failed to score in a game. Park has struggled to score all season, having managed just 10 goals in 15 games.

“The Cretin game was a disaster … the worst we have played all season,” said Paleen. “That’s what made last night feel so good. The seniors figured out how to get the boat turned around and heading in the right direction.”
