Park senior Josie Leonard has been selected as the school’s Athena Award winner for 2025.
The St. Paul Area Athena Award committee honors the outstanding senior female athletes from more than 40 area high schools each year.
Leonard is a three-sport athlete for the Wolfpack. She was a three-time varsity letter winner in soccer and earned all-conference and all section academic honors. In hockey, Leonard earned four varsity letters, all-conference honorable mention, and received the Hobey Baker Character Award. She will be a five-time letter winner in lacrosse and was named all-conference (three times), all-section, and academic all-state. Leonard helped lead the Wolfpack to back-to-back conference championships in lacrosse.
Leonard has 4.37 GPA, will be a four-time academic letter winner and received the Junior Book Award. She is involved in many school groups, including National Honor Society, student council and Key Club.
She will attend the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in the fall and will major in aerospace engineering and play lacrosse.
Past winners of this award at Park include Ava Reckinger, Sydnee Nelson, Shauna Miller, Saren Croker, Annie Williams, Anna Keys, Larissa Lurken, Allie Morse, and Jackie Voigt, as well as current Park staff members Ashley (Homan) Bailey and Kate Schwartz.
Leonard will receive her award at the 31st Annual St. Paul Area Athena Award luncheon on April 16 at the St. Paul RiverCentre.
