Thunderbolts tripped up by one goal
The South Washington County Thunderbolts lost their second straight one goal decision Tuesday, falling at home to visiting Lakeville/Burnsville/Farmington by a 4-3 score in adapted varsity soccer.
Park came into the game following a 2-1 road loss to Dakota United.
Thunderbolts dropped to 2-3 on the season. Next up for the team is a final home game of the regular season, hosting St. Paul Johnson on Oct. 29.
Volleyball team opens section play
As expected, Park (23-3) drew the No. 3 seed in the Section 3AAAA volleyball tournament and was scheduled to host sixth seeded Hastings (9-14) Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
A Park win Tuesday likely puts the Wolfpack at archrival and second-seeded East Ridge (20-6) on Saturday, Oct. 26, for the section semifinals.
In the other half of the bracket, top-seeded Eagan (20-6) drew Two Rivers (9-13-1) and fourth-seeded Rosemount (13-13) got Eastview (12-17).
The section finals are set for Wednesday Oct. 30 at the high seed.
