St. Paul Central ends Park volleyball season

Park took on old rival St. Paul Central Friday in a Class 1A, Section 3 semifinal Friday and the season ended for the Wolfpack.

Second-seeded St. Paul Central swept the third-seeded Wolfpack in three tight games, winning 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23 to advance to the section finals. It was Park’s third straight loss to Central, including the last two years in the playoffs.

Park ended the 2026 season with a 15-14 record.

St. Paul Central now plays at top-seed East Ridge in the Section 3 semifinals Thursday.

St. Paul Central (14-6) had won 3-1 during the 2026 regular season and also knocked the Wolfpack out of last year’s section semifinals in a 3-1 win.

Park 3, Cristo Rey Jesuit 1

Park started slowly but picked up the pace in games three and four in a Class 1A, Section 3 quarterfinal win Tuesday against visiting Cristo Rey Jesuit.

The third-seeded Wolfpack won in four sets, 25-23, 24-26, 25-13 and 25-17, over the sixth-seeded Wolves to advance in the playoffs.

Park improved to 15-13 on the season. Cristo Rey Jesuit’s season ended at 8-16.

"Three and four I think we finally showed up and in a lot of different ways," said Park head coach Robert Lozinski-McLean. "Energy out on the court, communication got better, our connection between our setters and our hitters. They cleaned almost every aspect of the game up and that showed in three and four with the scores.

"We've been worked on smart play lately and that flows into consistency," Lozinski added. "It's tough. At the end of the day they're high school boys and they want to bounce the ball at the 10-foot line. They're slowly starting to realize that they need options and shots and that is what consistency looks like and its coming."

Boys lacrosse team falls to Raptors

Top-seeded East Ridge did the expected Thursday and knocked the visiting Park Wolfpack out of the boys lacrosse season, winning 19-1 Thursday.

It was the second lopsided loss to the Raptors in three games of the Wolfpack. East Ridge won 18-1 in the regular season finale on May 21.

Jack Carsenbrock scored the only goal for the Wolfpack.

Bradley Johnson and Austin Griffin each had four goals for the third-ranked Raptors in the Section quarterfinal contest.

Park must replace seniors off this year’s team: Charlie Quick, Zac DeVaan, Sam Reckinger, Jack Carstenbrock, Alex Gustafson, EJ Lange, Nick Cassaro, Sam Friemann, Elliot Schooley, Hank Voss and Adam Johnson.

Park 13, TriMAC 10

Eighth-seeded Park stayed alive in the playoffs with a 13-10 win in over visiting TriMAC Tuesday in a Class 1A, Section 3 play-in game at Cottage Grove.
DeVaan and Carstenbrock each scored five goals for Park, Voss, Reckinger and Colin Thao one each.

Koch, Bonin lead Wolfpack boys golf team

Park’s Riley Koch and Justin Bonin qualified individually for Day 2 at Bunker Hills, but the rest of the Wolfpack didn’t advance in the 3AAA Section tournament Thursday.

“Riley Koch and Justin Bonin competed in day two of sections as individuals,” said Park coach Tim Maluski. “Both great accomplishments to make it to day two and Riley highlighted the day with a 79. A tremendous season with many accomplishments, and a lot of fun along the way.”
