Park girls run past Woodbury

Senior forward Bryleigh Dana scored a season high 14 points and Park built a 34-24 halftime lead at Woodbury Friday to cruise to a 53-38 win over the Royals in Suburban East Conference basketball Friday.

Emma Ambroz and Tori Henderson scored 12 each for the Wolfpack. Sydnee Nelson had nine points and Graycie Smith six as Park put together perhaps its most balances offense of the season.

Park evened its 202223 season record to 5-5 and improved to 2-3 in the SEC. Woodbury fell to 2-8 on the season and 0-6 in the conference.

The Wolfpack play next at Irondale (0-5, 3-9) in a rare Wednesday night game.

Eagan 59, Park 62

Host Eagan snapped Park’s winning streak at four with a 59-52 non-conference win on a snowy Tuesday night.

Eagan (7-4) led 25-24 at the half, then outscored the Wolfpack 34-28 after the break.

Sydnee Nelson led Park (4-5) with 18 points. Tori Henderson scored 11, Graycie Smith 8 and Bryleigh Dana 7.

Boys hockey roughs up Irondale 9-0 Park bounced back from one of its toughest losses of the season with one of its most lopsided victories Saturday afternoon.

After falling 6-1 to Eastview on Thursday, Park demolished visiting Irondale 9-0 at Cottage Grove Ice Arena on Saturday.

Gavin Moss, Owen Corkish and Tyler Schwartz each scored twice to lead the Wolfpack Saturday. Jackson Rudh, Tommy Lucas and Boston Weidner also got in the scoring parade with a goal apiece. Rudh had three assists, while Maccoy Wohnoutka and Moss had two each to lead Park.

Park goalie Alex Harden stopped all eight of the shots he faced. Park outshot the visitors 38-8.

Park jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period and led 7-0 after two periods.

Park (10-4, 2-2) hosts Forest Lake (3-7, 0-4) Thursday and then White Bear Lake (9-2. 4-1) on Saturday this week.

Eastview 6, Park 1

Visiting Eastview skated to a 6-1 victory over Park Thursday evening at Cottage Grove Ice Arena in a non-conference contest.

Eastview (7-2) took a 3-1 advantage after one period, then blanked the Wolfpack the rest of the way.

Jackson Rudh scored Park’s only goal, at 14:50 of the first period on a power play with assists to Caden Schwartz and Owen Corkish.

It was a rugged game with Eastview assessed 29 minutes on nine penalties and Park whistled eight minutes on four infractions.

Girls hockey team falls at Roseville Park fell on the short end of the score in a 5-2 loss to Roseville/Mahtomedi at Roseville Ice Arena Saturday.

Roseville led 1-0 after one period and 3-2 after two, but then punched in a pair of goals in the decisive third period to claim the victory.

Park (7-8, 2-2) takes on eighth-ranked and league-leading Stillwater (12-4, 10-0) Saturday, Jan. 14, at the St. Croix Recreation Center, starting at 7 p.m.

East Ridge swims past Park boys Park swimmers swept the 100-yard breaststroke to highlight a meet against East Ridge at Oltman Middle School Thursday.

Mason Darling won the breaststroke in a time of 1:04.28. Logan Schweigert was second in 1:12.54 and Luke Dockendorf third in 1:25.40.

Park’s team of Jack Schweigert, Parker Jeseritz, Damion Charpentier and Jackson Harre clocked a 3:55.74 time to gain first in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

East Ridge won the team decision, 102.5 to 77.5.

Park went 1-2 in the diving with Ethyn Schilling finishing first with 120.15 points. Trey Jaso was second with a 119.85 score.

Park was second in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Logan Schweigert, Jackson Harre, David Laes and Hayden Bonner finishing in 1:48.27. The Wolfpack team of Mitchell LeMay, Mason Darling, Logan Schweigert and Damion Charpentier was second in 1:42.68.

Mitchell LeMay finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.44) and second in the 100-yard butterfly (53.79). Jackson Harre was second in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.54. Parker Jeseritz finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.08.

Mason Darling placed third in the 200-yard IM in 2:06.93. Damion Charptentier was fourth in the 200yard freestyle (2:10.91) and third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:50.71).

Wrestlers pinned at No. 7 Mounds View Park had a tough go of it Thursday night at seventh- ranked Mounds View, falling 55-12 in a dual meet.

Landen Brooks at 113 pounds, Zack Carr at 120 and Gunnar Mullen had Park’s only wins Thursday. Carr scored a 21-4 technical fall in his match. Mullen also won big, with a 12-2 major decision.
