Girls swimming and diving
Park senior Caitlyn Greenwalt dove her way into the all-time Park records books with a record-setting performance Saturday.
Greenwalt scored a 428.10 to win the one-meter diving competition at the Tartan Invitational. Greenwalt’s score broke the school record and the invitational record.
Park won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a fast 1:46.62 with the team of Ellen Jensen, Afton LeMay, Alayna Faletti and Amber Norgaard. Park’s team of Jensen, LeMay, Arachi O’Brien and Norgaard finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:57.38.
Park finished fifth in the 11-team meet with 206 points. The top five team finishers were: Maple Grove, 406; Two Rivers, 388; River Falls, 276; White Bear Lake, 223; and Park, 206.
Jensen of the Wolfpack placed second in 50-yard freestyle in 25.60 and was third in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.55.
Norgaard was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:44.12.
O’Brien was seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:17.76 and ninth in the 100-yard freestyle in 101.53.
– Ninth-grader Faletti won two events Tuesday at South St. Paul to lead the Park swimmers and divers to a dual meet victory.
Faletti won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:23.53 and finished first in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:10.77 Park won the meet, 96-80.
Park’s Norgaard won the 200-yard IM in 2:30.23. Arachi O’Brien took top honors in the 500-yard frrestyle in 6:10.05. Kylie Dahm was first (1:06.62) and Ellie Imdieke second (1:07.46) in the 100-yard freestyle.
Park’s 200-yard medley relay team of Jensen, LeMay, O’Brien and Norgaard finished first in 2:03.32. The team of Jensen, LeMay, Faletti and Norgaard won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:45.81.
O’Brien took top honors in the 500-yard frrestyle in 6:10.05.
Greenwalt was second in diving with a score of 238.29.
Lemay was second in the backstoke in 1:12.77. Eraya Nybakken was second in the 200 free in 2:42.24.
Volleyball
Park went 3-1 in the Hastings Invitational Saturday, knocking off Visitation, Zumbroa-Mazeppa and Albany before falling to St. Croix Lutheran.
The Wolfpack won 2-0 decisions against Visitation (25-20, 25-17) and Albany (25-20, 25-17) and a 2-1 win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa (19-25, 25-22, 15-9). St, Croix Lutheran topped the Wolfpack 2-0, winning 2516 and 25-16.
Park is now 10-5 on the season and 1-1 in the Suburban East Conference.
Park rebounded from a loss to rival East River with a three-set sweep of host Roseville Thursday, the Wolfpack winning 25-13, 25-18 and 2520.
Host East Ridge snapped Park’s two-game winning streak Tuesday, Sept. 21, with a straight set win. The Raptors won in three, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-20.
Park plays at Cretin-Derham Hall Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.
Cross country
Park’s boys finished 18th out of 25 teams in the Milaca Mega Meet Saturday in boys cross country.
Senior Parker Hahn led the Wolfpack with a 28th place finish in a time of 16:55.5 in the 5,000-meter race.
Other Park top finishers were: Gavin Stauffer, 68th, 17:40.6; Dale Kirsch,81th, 17:54.7; Sam Larson, 120th, 18:50.1 and Eli Furchau, 129th, 18:59.6.
A total of 172 competitors ran in the boys races.
Junior Lydia Best led the Park girls with a 82nd place finish in 21:45.1. Kyleigh Mullen was 113th in 23.10.3 and Esther Lankow was 146th in 28:41.8.
