Park continued its undefeated season Sunday in flag football, brushing past Minneapolis Washburn and then Woodbury to claim the District 6 title.
The Wolfpack dispatched Washburn 39-19, then beat Woodbury in the district finals, winning 34-19.
The win puts Park in the 2025 High School Girls Flag State Championship Tournament. The tournament will be held at TCO Stadium in Eagan with 11 games set for Monday, June 9, starting at 3 p.m. The top four teams will get a bye, the next four will have first-round games.
Park junior quarterback Alayna Adamez connected with a variety of receivers all game, either hitting short routes that runners took in stride and broke through the defense or long bombs over the top.
“For the most part we stayed pretty well focused,” said head coach Scott Leonard. “We had a couple lapses but for the most part we executed the little things, took care of the ball, Alayna put the balls out in space where we wanted to, she did a good job there. Fun group. We pulled flags all night, so it was fun.
“Some of our routes weren’t where they need to be,” Leonard added. “We were looking to clear somebody out and there’s be an under route that would run into it. But that’s about it right now. We kind of fine tuning right now.”
Woodbury scored first, but Park then rattled off the next 27 points to take a commanding 27-6 lead.
“I think we were really together as a team, which made it fun, and we were catching the ball a lot more today,” said senior Lauren Osland. “Our defense, we were having some trouble in the first game, but we really picked it up in the second game.”
Park finished the regular season with a 10-0 record. Adamez finished the regular season completing 122 of 238 passes for 36 touchdowns and 1,598 passing yards, best in the district and sixth best in the state. Osland had 197 yards rushing. Maleah McMorrow caught 19 passes for 228 yards and seven touchdowns. Madi Brinkman had 32 catches for 363 yards and five scores.
“I think just catching passes and also connecting at as a team and actually communicating of what our goals are and then executing them was our biggest thing,” said senior Kyra Stofer when asked what the team did well in the two wins. “I think our goals are just working on our plays and doing them right and then on D, staying in our zone and our man correctly.”
Aliyah Jarmon (18 tackles and an interception) and Abby Schmitzer (10 tackles and an interception) led the Wolfpack defense.
Park scored 334 points in 10 games, for a 33.4 points per game average while giving up just over two touchdowns a game.
